Group 8. Home of iron, the greatest element on Earth.
Generally, elements in this group are metallic and normal. Hassium is the odd one out, as it is radioactive and only has a half-life of a few seconds, thus it is useless and can only be used for lab research purposes. Iron is the cheapest out of all of the group 8 elements, while osmium is the most expensive. The most used element is iron, which is used in manufacturing. Osmium and ruthenium can be combined into an alloy to form a very hard alloy. Iron and osmium are quite non-toxic, but ruthenium is considered to be harmful. Iron is the only element in this group that is essential for humans.
